Photo & Content Rules
Good photos sell your work — and honest photos keep customers coming back. You don't need a fancy camera; your phone is plenty.
Show your own work
- Use photos of your actual work, or a clearly described representative example.
- Don't use stolen images or someone else's photos.
- Don't use misleading stock photography for a real product listing.
- Don't include another company's branding in a way that suggests their item is yours.
Keep private things out of frame
- Watch the background for house numbers, mail, screens, or documents.
- Get permission before photographing people who can be identified.
- Please don't photograph children without their guardian's permission.
Tips for good product photos
- Use daylight — near a window, or outside in the shade.
- Use a clean, uncluttered background.
- Fill most of the frame with the item.
- Take one full-product photo and one close-up.
- Show size or scale when it might be unclear.
- Skip heavy filters — show the real color and texture.
Tips for your page cover
- Use one wide, horizontal photo for the top of your page.
- Show your garden, stand, workshop, sewing area, bee yard, or display.
- Keep private information out of the background.
You don't need perfect photos to finish your application. You can skip photos for now and add them later — a tasteful placeholder stands in until you do.
