Jobs A job is employment an organization is hiring for — full time, part time, seasonal, temporary, contract, or an internship — with an employer who has a name and a place.
Local Gigs A local gig is one specific paid task somebody needs done: two people to move panels on Saturday, a garage to clear before a move, a driveway to clear after a storm.
Local Services Local Services is the other side of the same street. It is where a business or a person advertises a standing offer of service — a cleaner who cleans houses, a company that tows cars. If you are asking for help with one specific thing, post a local gig; if you are offering something you do all the time, list it under Local Services instead.

Staying safe
- Never pay to get a jobA real employer does not charge you to apply, to be trained, to be certified, or to buy your own equipment before you start. Any listing that asks for money from you is a scam, without exception. Tell us and we will take it down.
- Guard your documents until you are hiredA Social Security number, a bank account, a driver’s licence photo, or a date of birth is needed to put you on a payroll — not to consider you. Nobody needs any of them before there is a real offer, in person, from somebody you have met.
- Never forward a paymentIf somebody sends you a check and asks you to keep part and send the rest on, buy gift cards, or move money for them, it is a crime being committed with your bank account. The check will bounce weeks later and the money is yours to repay.
- Meet in a sensible place, and tell somebodyFor a first meeting, choose somewhere public or somewhere with other people around. Tell a friend or a family member where you are going and when you expect to be back. For a gig at a private address, that matters more, not less.

- 2Send one short messageYou write once to the person who posted, and they decide whether to open a conversation. Nobody’s phone number gets published to the county to make that work.
- 3Agree directlyEverything after that is between the two of you — the hours, the pay, and when it happens.
Good to know
- Harvest 57 reads every listing before it appears and does nothing else. It does not confirm that an employer exists, that a wage will be paid, that a licence is held, or that a task is safe.
- There is no charge to post and no charge to answer. Harvest 57 never takes a commission or a placement fee, never holds a deposit, and is never anybody’s employer.
- There is no public list of people looking for work here. Your name reaches only the person whose listing you answered, and only after they accept.
- A listing describes the work — its hours, its pay, its location, and what it requires. It never describes a preferred kind of person.
